Akira Kusuhara and Minoru Satomi are both professors of education at Kokugakuin University and two of the first translators of Freire's work into the Japanese language, Kusuhara from English and Satomi from Portuguese.

Steeve Snyder is an exchange scholar from the University of Colorado, where he is a professor of Japanese literature. He has translated many Japanese novels including Ryu Murakai's "Coin Locker Babies". He's just translated a best-selling work of a Korean Japanese writer, Yu Miri.

Reiko Yoshihara is a part-time English lecturer in Tokyo area.  Her background  is Women's Studies and American Studies.  She talks about Linguistic Imperialism  and bell hooks' approach.
