Affiliations
In 2001 we participated in 26
direct actions. Most of these were local actions which revolve around
a few key concerns. They include:
The November Coalition
works to end the war on drugs.
The Orange County
Alliance for Global Nuclear Disarmament works to free the world of nuclear
weapons.
Food Not Bombs
take food that is either donated or would have been thrown away and prepares
a vegetarian meal for the homeless on Sundays in both Santa Ana and Long Beach.
The Commons,
headquartered in Paris France, works to bring about a society free from the
automobile by promoting car free days around the world.
The Stonewall Initiative
for Equal Rights works to uphold the rights of gay, lesbian, bi and transsexual
people.
The Organic Consumers
Association fights to ensure we have safe, healthy food, free from genetic
engineering.
Greenpeace is
known worldwide for its work in protecting the environment and endangered
species.
Earth First
is concerned with saving the old growth forests in danger of being clearcut.
We have lost over 90% of our old growth forests in California.
Amnesty International
works to free political prisoners and other prisoners of conscience.
They seek to uphold the United Nations Charter on Human Rights.
The Green Party
addresses many social justice concerns.
